DerekPOLLITTIt is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Derek Pollitt, who passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday 12th May 2026, aged 89 years.
A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family man, whose kindness, wisdom and quiet strength touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving sons Andrew, David and Philip, and fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law Carol and Julie, and his granddaughter in law Claire. He was a proud and caring grandfather to Daniel, Josh and Adam, and a cherished great grandfather to Lily and Daisy, who brought him immense joy throughout his life. Derek's warmth, humour and dedication to his family created memories that will be treasured forever.
Derek lived a long and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and compassion. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Derek's life and share memories of a much loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Will friends please meet for service at Dukinfield Crematorium at 10:20 on Tuesday 9th June.
Family flowers only by request, donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, would be greatly appreciated for Macmilllan, for which a box will be provided at the service.
